In this intense chapter, the She Elephant, a violent and drunken antagonist, attacks Tendai, Rita, and their protectors in a garden, capturing Tendai and Rita and forcing them into a taxi. The She Elephant reveals her motivations tied to a slave ring and her loss of power after their father took away her control, exposing the dark underbelly of child trafficking and exploitation. The chapter ends with the She Elephant incapacitating the taxi driver, indicating further danger for the children.
