The chapter follows the wizard Aballister Bonaduce and his imp familiar Druzil as they embark on a perilous hunt on the Great Glacier to obtain the last ingredient for a powerful chaos curse. After violently dispatching a hostile tribe called the taer, they secure the rare yote mushroom. The narrative then shifts to a meeting between three druids and Cadderly, a young priest of Deneir from the Edificant Library, highlighting tensions and past connections between different magical and religious orders.
