Chapter 3

Bart Fraden, Sophia O'Hara, and Willem Vanderling are aboard a spaceship beyond Pluto, searching for a suitable planet with high revolutionary potential to seek asylum and continue their political struggle. Using a computopilot, they identify four candidate planets and ultimately select Sangre, a planet with a volatile political situation and a history of isolation. Upon arrival, they attempt to communicate with the planet's authorities, requesting political asylum despite a hostile initial radio challenge.
