Arevin travels to the town of Mountainside in search of the healer Snake but is met with hostility and suspicion. He is falsely accused of assault, imprisoned, and interrogated by the town's mayor and guards, who reveal that Snake is safe but injured. Despite the tense and distrustful atmosphere, Arevin maintains his composure and insists on proving his innocence and connection to Snake.
