In this chapter, Ravna and Pham oversee the preparation and delivery of trellises by the Skroderiders, encountering a diverse and ancient alien environment. As the trellises are tested and validated, Greenstalk mysteriously disappears, prompting Pham to don a camouflaged suit and venture out into the alien concourse to investigate, highlighting the tension and complexity of interspecies interactions in the Beyond.
