In this chapter, Paul Hagbolt and Margo Gelhorn travel along a precarious coastal trail to attend a secretive meeting held near a missile base during a lunar eclipse. They encounter a small gathering of diverse individuals, including a mysterious woman in a green turban and her daughter Ann, as well as a large police dog named Ragnarok. Meanwhile, military officials monitor the eclipse and lunar activity remotely, and a group of Harlem residents observe the event with a mixture of curiosity and recreational drug use.
